HI, I’M KIRSTY
I’ve spent 18+ years working in hotel sales, and I know how much difference having the right structure, tools and support can make.
I created Hotel Sales Toolkit to bring that experience together into practical tools, guidance and resources that make hotel sales simpler, more organised and easier to put into action.
Why I created Hotel Sales Toolkit
Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand how different the level of sales support can be from one hotel to another.
Working within branded hotels, I’ve had access to established systems, tools, resources and wider sales support. However, not every hotel has that. Independent hotels in particular can have brilliant people responsible for sales, but without the same ready-made resources or structure behind them.
That was definitely part of the inspiration for Hotel Sales Toolkit. I wanted to make practical sales tools and resources accessible to anyone working in hotel sales, regardless of the size of their hotel or whether they have the backing of a larger brand.
But it’s not just about independent hotels.
Hotel sales can feel overwhelming when you don’t have the right structure in place. There are always accounts to manage, new business to find, calls to make, emails to follow up, appointments to arrange and targets to hit. It’s very easy to be busy all day without necessarily focusing on the activity that is most likely to generate revenue.
I don’t believe effective hotel sales needs to be overcomplicated. It’s about being organised, understanding where your opportunities are, prioritising the right activity and consistently following through.
That’s what I wanted Hotel Sales Toolkit to provide: practical tools, guidance and structure that help you know what to focus on, take action and ultimately drive more revenue for your hotel.
18 years of hotel sales
Over the past 18+ years, I’ve worked across lots of different areas of hotel sales.
I’ve worked on-property in both branded and independent hotels, giving me first-hand experience of what hotel sales looks like day to day. I’ve also worked in a national Travel Trade sales role for a hotel management company, travelling across the UK and representing a portfolio of branded hotels.
My experience spans both corporate and leisure sales, from developing local corporate accounts and identifying new business opportunities to building relationships with travel trade partners on a national level.
More recently, my consultancy work through Tower Consultancy has allowed me to work with an even wider variety of hotels, stepping into different sales environments and providing support wherever it’s needed. Today I also work directly with hotels through the Sales Health Check.
That variety of experience has shown me that there isn’t one single way to do hotel sales, but having the right structure, tools and focus makes a huge difference.
